Abstract
404,601. Knitting-machines. AKTIEBOLAGET PER PERSSONS VAF-OCH STICKMASKIN, 22, Alstromergatan, Stockholm. April 13, 1932, No. 10644. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 14, 1932]. [Class 74 (ii).] Patterning mechanism for selecting the needles of a flat-bed machine comprises jacks 16 engaging a jacquard band 22 and members 5 interposed between the needles 3 and the jacks 16. Each member 5 has a projecting part 9 pivotally mounted in a recess in the needle bed, and a catch 11 engaging the needle. A spring 8 holds a projection 6 on the member 5 in engagement with its jack 16. In a machine having three sets of knitting cams 35 .. 38 in series, the jacks 16 are selected by the pattern band 22 so that butts 23 thereon move in one of three operative paths 24 .. 26 or in an inoperative path 27. On the inner end of each jack are three notches 33 and projections 34 co-operating with the projection 6 of its member 5. Each path 24 .. 26 controls the operations of needles in one of the knitting cam systems 35 .. 38, e.g., the needles 3 corresponding to the jacks 16 moving in the path 24 are held in operative position in passing through the first set of knitting-cams, since a projecting part 34 of such a jack engages its member 5 and holds it in engagement with the needle 3.
