Abstract

404,337. Rotary compressors. JAMESON, J. L., Elland, Hemingford Road, Cheam, Surrey. July 13, 1932, Nos. 19741/32,22475/32, 27608/32, and 3379/33. [Class 110 (ii).] Sliding vanes l are supported in blocks j of cast iron or anti-friction material fitted between segments b to form a rotor which is divided axially into two parts spaced by a split ring m upon which the recessed inner edges of the vanes rest. Two cup-shaped members d support the outer edges of the vanes at the ends of the casing, the middle portions of the vanes rubbing on the casing bore. The members d are rotated by the shaft c by means of a disc f and connecting links g which are pivoted on the ends of rods h secured to the members d. The two portions of the rotor are coupled by segments t secured by screws. The casing is provided with an inlet o and an outlet p. The end of the driving shaft may be connected to a starting handle dog or an oil pump. The ring m, which is concentric with the casing, may be provided with small peripheral projections pressing on the vanes. The second Provisional Specification states that gearing may be used to drive the end cups from the main shaft.
