Abstract

404,153. Balancing shafts. HARDY, SPICER, & Co., Ltd., and SPARROW, W. E., Birch Road, Witton, Birmingham. Feb. 10, 1933, No. 4117. [Class 80 (ii).] A tubular motor-vehicle propeller shaft 11 is balanced by one or more press-fitted internal plugs 14 having eccentric holes 15, 16, or additional welded segmental plates 17. The plugs may, as shown, be plain or cupped pressings. Universal-joint parts 13 are spigotted and welded in the shaft ends.
