Abstract

403,250. Roller-skates. BOTTCHER, P., 21, Chemnitzerstrasse, Freiberg, ULLMAN, B., and HEINZE, K., Mulda, both in Saxony, Germany. March 4, 1933, No. 6675. [Class 132 (i).] A roller-skate with two front ground rollers and one or two rear ground rollers is characterised by the fact that the axle of the front rollers is placed directly under or over the ball of the foot and that the front end of the footplate is at a very small distance above the ground so that slight tipping over of the roller skate is rendered very easy and the front end of the footplate is brought by the slight tipping over of the roller skate into contact with the surface of the road for the purpose of preventing the roller skate from rolling backwards. As shown in Fig. 6, the skate has two large front rollers d and one or two small rear rollers e, the rollers e being able to swivel about the vertical axle g. The axle a of the front rollers d is perpendicularly below the ball of the foot. The footplate c is extended downwardly at the front end and is armed at b with rubber or like material. As shown in Fig. 7 two front rollers d of considerable diameter are used, and the ball f of the foot is perpendicularly below the axle a of the front rollers d. The rollers may be provided with rubber tyres.
