Abstract

400,486. Sliding seats. SARJEANT, F. C., Spero Works, Finch Road, Handsworth, Birmingham. Feb. 28, 1933, No. 6002. [Class 52 (ii).] In sliding-seat mechanism of the type having interengaging flanged and channelled guides and in which one of the guides is flanged so as to have both over and under bearings upon antifriction rollers carried by the other guide, the guide b, Fig. 4, bearing upon the rollers g is aligned by interengagement of one of its flanges b<2> with a shallow groove or channel d<3> formed in a flange of the other guide d. The guide d is one of a pair secured to the floor of the vehicle, and the guide b one of a pair secured to the underside of the seat a, Fig. 1. Locking mechanism comprises a hand-operated lever i pivoted at h to one of the guides band having a tooth i2 adapted to engage in one of a number of perforations d<4> formed in the raised outer part d<1>, Fig. 4, of the flange d. The toothed end of the lever is normally held down by a spring j, Fig. 1.
