MITCHELL, R., 69, Kenilworth Court, Putney, London, FINLAY, W., 24, Mansionhouse Road, DOUGAL, D. and DOUGAL, A., 18, Hill Street, both in Edinburgh, (Representatives of MITCHELL, J.), and MEBOE, Ltd., 31, Queen Anne's Gate, London. July 4, 1932, No. 18886. [Class 122 (i).] A piston-rod c is formed with coned surfaces, Fig. 3, or a collar c<5>, Fig. 4, or coned surfaces and a collar for the reception of two parts a, b of the piston head, which are secured together and to the rod by bolts g or rivets r. A renewable carrier ring d supporting split packing rings e covers the whole periphery of the head and is secured between two parts a, b, or n, b, of the head. The carrrier ring may be in one piece or built up from sections d, d<1>, d<2>, and may be supported between conical surfaces on the peripheries of the members a, b.
