Abstract

400,226. Corrugating tubes. KIRKE, P. ST. G., Givons Manor, Leatherhead, Surrey. April 20, 1932, No. 11310. [Class 83 (iv).] Circular section superheater tubes &c. are bent to sinuous form between a former 12 and a former 13 reciprocated by hydraulic or other means. The formers carry projections of circular cross section and are of sinuous longitudinal form. The formers may comprise rollers or bed and cylindrical apparatus, and the tube may be left straight for a part of its length. In modifications the formers may be hinged or the movable former may be curved to co-operate with a flat former with a rocking motion. Specifications 388,227 and 400,252, [both in Group XIII], are referred to.
