[Class 122 (v).] A device for packing rotating shafts comprises a casing 1, secured in the housing through which the shaft passes and carrying a leather packing ring 4 pressed on the shaft by a resilient ring 9 of cork, rubber, felt, &c. carried by a metal ring 7 secured in the casing 1.
