Abstract
399,689. Binders for sheets &c. DRAEGER FRERES, 46, Rue de Bagneux, Grand Montrouge, Seine, France. Jan. 12, 1933, No. 1131. Convention date, March 24, 1932. [Classes 16 and 146 (i).] A binding arrangement for sheets and leaflets comprises a plurality of open elastic rings, having their ends bearing elastically on each other, which are adapted to be inserted in perforations in the sheets. The rings, Fig. 1, made of metal such as steel, the metal sold under the Registered Trade Mark Duralumin, or bronze, or of celluloid, or the like, are formed as single turns with overlapping ends 1, 2, one end 2 being turned inwards through 90‹. They are inserted into slots 5 in the leaves 4, Fig. 3, by springing them open and turning them in the direction of the arrow f<1>, Fig. 3. The inturned end 2 may lie between two of the bound sheets. For a permanent binding the ends of the rings, if made of cellulose, may be cemented together by immersion in acetone. The end 1 may be turned outward instead of the end 2 inward. To provide a more rigid construction the ends 1 may be provided with tongues, adapted to be inserted in slots in a flat strip which lies between two sheets. The rings may be coloured and the number of rings used and their width may be varied.
