399,538. Printing - machines. HOE & CO., Ltd., R., 109, Borough Road, London.-(Hoe & Co., Inc., R.; 138th Street, New York, -U.S.A.) April 4, 1932, No. 9667. [Class 100 (i).] Associating - apparatus.-In a web printing, folding, and cutting machine in which a transverse line on an unfolded web passing to the folder is parallel with a corresponding line on a web leaving the printing-machine, the printed web is slit into ribbons each of which passes over one turner-bar only before being associated with the other ribbons and directed to the folder. The full-width web from the printing- machine A is turned by a bar 62 so as to pass over a roller 67 where it is slit into ribbons 64c .. 64f. Each ribbon passes over a turnerbar 69 which directs it to a roller 61 where the ribbons are associated before passing to a longitudinal folder 51. The ribbons from another machine C may also be associated with those from the machine A. When producing a larger product, the full-width web is slit into two parts, one of which is associated with the other part by means of turner-bars and the associated webs passed to the folder 51. In another arrangement, the ribbons from the bars 69 pass over guide rollers and vertically downwards to a rotary transverse cutting and folding mechanism.
