398,721. Golf clubs. SPALDING & BROS. (BRITISH), Ltd., A. G., Deodar Road Putney, London.-(Assignees of Reach, W. F. ; Springfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) Jan. 31, 1933, No. 2975. Convention date, April 21, 1932. [Class 132 (ii).] A golf club comprises a head and hose of wood, a metal shaft, a rigid sleeve with which the shaft is detachably connected and a sleeve of material interposed between the rigid sleeve and the wall of the wooden hose attached to both, and forming a connection between them, the rigid sleeve shielding the shaft from the interposed material throughout the extent of the latter. As shown, the wooden head 3 has a hose 4 cemented inside which is a sleeve of material 9, preferably textile fabric, which is united to a rubber sleeve 10 vulcanized to a metallic sleeve 6 threaded internally to engage the externally threaded end 8 of the metallic shaft 5.
