[Class 40 (iv).] A single-motion rotary switch in which each wiper comprises two members 18, 19, the tips of which engage opposite sides of the bank terminals and each feed brush comprises two members 12, 13 located between the members 18, 19 and having outwardly splayed ends may be assembled when all the wipers are in line by positioning the wiper assembly so that each wiper embraces the corresponding feed brush at an intermediate point and then moving it towards its central position with respect to the bank. When, however, the switch has angularly spaced wipers for engaging different rows of terminals, in adopting this procedure only some of the wipers embrace their feed brushes, and the ends of remaining feed brushes present an obstruction. To overcome this difficulty, as many of the wipers as is necessary are provided with extensions or " tails " 21 which embrace the feed brushes in the preliminary position shown in Fig. 2. As the wiper shaft is inserted into the slots 16, the splayed ends of the brushes are compressed by the wipers and tails which embrace them. The wipers may be slotted at 27 and ribbed at 28, as shown in Fig. 4, and the tails may have bent up edges 22 for engaging the ends of the feed brushes.
