[Class 113 (ii).] In a cargo ship the outer skin 2 of the vessel diverges continuously from the bilge to the deck so that the width at the load-line is greater than that at the ballast-line. Longitudinal bulkheads 4 immediately inboard of the outer skin extend from the bottom to the deck where they may be extended as coamings 5 of the hatchways.
