Abstract
397,031. Gas fires. CROFT, C. M., 33, Lytton Grove, Putney, London, and WALL, H. A., 281, Commonside East, Mitcham, Surrey. Feb. 17, 1933, No. 4946. [Class 126.] A panel gas fire inserted in a recess in a wall is provided with a detachable front frame e having means engaging complementary supporting means on an anchorage mounted on or in the wall. The frame may thus be readily exchanged for another of a different design. In the form shown, the anchorage means comprise T-form claws b<1> on the jambs b of the fire, which engage in T-slots e<2> formed in plates e<1> fitted to the back of the frame, which is shown in Fig. 8. A rearwardlyprojecting flange e* round the frame makes contact with the face of the wall, and is cut away at the bottom to form concealed air inlets f. Alternatively, air inlets may be formed in depressions in the lower part of the frame, for example in the upper part of transverse flutings, in which position they are concealed.
