Abstract

Natural or artificial silk fibres are sized at 35-80 DEG C. with a solution of linseed oil in 0,25-2 times its volume of benzene, toluene or like solvent, or with an emulsion of linseed oil in 2-7 times its volume of water. Surplus liquid is then removed in a hydro-extractor. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 mentions gasoline and tetrachlorethane as suitable solvents. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
