[Classes 17 (ii) and 141.] To ensure watertight closure of articles to which sliding-clasp fasteners are applied, flexible edging strips 1 are secured to the back or inner faces of the stringers carrying the fastenermembers 2. The applications to golf-jackets and footwear are described. The edgings are caused to abut when the fastener is closed by operation of the usual slider, forming a subsidiary closure behind the fastening. The edges may be tubular as shown, or crinkled, and of rubber or fabric.
