395,746. Eccentrics; gearwheel pumps. ATTWOOD, S. H., Chenies, Richmond Avenue, Wolverhampton, and SIMMS MOTOR UNITS, Ltd., Percy Buildings, Gresse Street, Rathbone Place, London. Jan. 18, 1932, No. 1428. [Classes 110 (ii) and 122 (i).] A fuel-injection pump has integral plungers 11, 12 operated by a compound eccentric comprising a sheave 46 keyed on a driving-shaft 44, a loose sheave 51 and a strap 50, which is secured to the plungers bv pins 49. The suction passages 5, 6 are supplied by the discharge passage 4 of a gear pump 1 having one gear mounted on the shaft 44. A plunger 3 acted on by the pressure in the passage 5 partially obstructs the suction passage 2 of the gear pump on rise of pressure. Further movement of the plunger uncovers a byepass passage 36. Passages 55 lead fuel oil to the eccentric and main bearings for lubricating purposes.
