395,626. Stuffing-box substitutes. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON, Oerlikon, near Z³rich, Switzerland. Feb. 2, 1933, No. 3220. Convention date, Feb. 13, 1932. [Class 122 (v).] Steam, supplied at 1 to the stuffing-box 2 of an electrical machine to prevent leakage of cooling gas or entrance of air, is condensed in a condenser 5 connected to the stuffing- box. The condensate is freed from gas and returned to the boiler and gas recovered in the condenser is freed from moisture and returned to the machine casing.
