Abstract

395,388. Signs. BENNETT, C. L., 107, Friern Barnet Lane, Whetstone, London. Jan. 1, 1932, No. 86. [Class 3 (ii).] Signs are made selfluminous by a backing of calcium sulphide, calcium tungstate, or zinc sulphide mixed with radium salts. The Figure shows a section of a letter 1, of glass, celluloid or other cellulose ester or ether, or of artificial resin, in which the luminous mixture is filled in grooves 3 backed by a celluloid sheet 4. The edges 5 of the front are painted a dark colour, and corrugations 6 on the front make the letter more conspicuous. In other forms the mixture is placed in a flat letter frame with a celluloid cover, or behind a stencil or a transparent plate. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 142,968, 162,703, 207,870, 254,621, 263,668, and 274,767, [all in Class 3 (ii), Advertising &c. other than by moving &c.].
