Oct. 6, 1932, No. 27848. Convention date, Oct. 6, 1931. [Class 38 (iv).] Transmission conductor arrangements.-Electrical apparatus and stations are protected against excessive voltage by making the transmission conductor in immediate or substantially immediate connection therewith of a diameter such that corona radiation will occur at a voltage slightly higher than that at which the conductor normally operates. The length of such conductor may be approximately one kilometre and it may be formed of a material of reduced conductivity. The arrangement may be used in combination with known excessvoltage protecting devices.
