[Class 146 (iii).] A reservoir pen comprises a reservoir carried by a standard and connected to the pen proper by a length of flexible tubing, a needle valve or the like being provided to control the flow of ink from the reservoir. The standard is preferably formed by a base a to which is attached a flexible upright b formed by coiled wire ; alternatively a rigid upright may be employed or the flexible upright may be rendered rigid by insertion of lengths of rod. A pin is inserted in the upper end of the standard and carries a reservoir c by means of a band e or other means. The lower end of the reservoir is provided with an outlet tube c<1> which can be closed by a needle valve c<3> movable in the upper closure of the reservoir. A pointer and scale may be provided to enable the flow of ink to be regulated as desired. The tube c<1> is connected by a flexible tube f which may be reinforced, to a tube carried in the handle of the pen, the tube communicating with the duct in the feed-bar. When not in use, the pen is supported in a holder formed on the base. An arm may be attached to the upright to support the tube f and prevent wear. The reservoir may be permanently or detachably mounted on, or be embodied in the standard of a table lamp, or the device may be secured to a writing desk. Duplicate reservoirs and pens for differently coloured inks may be employed, or a number of reservoirs may be connected to a single pen through a multiple way valve.
