394,265. Vehicle doors. BUDD MANUFACTURING CO., E. G., 2500, Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Trautvetter, G. ; 2500, Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A.) Jan. 13, 1933, No. 1171. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1932. [Class 103 (ii).] An outer panel for all-metal vehicle doors comprises a unitary stamping 10 extended inwardly at a window opening formed therein so as to constitute a moulding 17 and then flanged at 19 in the plane of the panel and transversely thereto at 20 to form the outer side and bottom of a glass-run channel, the flange 20 having an extension 23, 21, 22 of Z-section which acts as a rigid brace between the bent-back portion 16 entirely surrounding the window opening and the jamb portion 15 of an inner frame panel. The portion 20 is offset at 23 to receive the edge of the portion 16 which is welded thereto. Edge flanges 11 of the panel 10 are crimped around and spotwelded to edge flanges 12 of the inner panel.
