[Class 56.] Relates to the use of perforated guide plates 1 which are fitted in the space between the rollers, or between the roller and the casting table, of a machine for making sheet glass to limit the spread of the molten glass and to retard the flow of chilled glass into the edges of the sheet formed by the rollers. According to the invention, the perforations 2 extend completely through the plates in order to allow the escape of air which is driven towards the plates by the mass of molten glass when it is poured into the machine.
