Rolling.-A process for making plate glass consists in melting the glass in pots, pouring the whole contents of a melting pot in to the receiver of a rolling apparatus, heating the mass of glass while it remains in the receiver, and annealing the glass strip formed by the rolling-apparatus in a leer provided with conveying-rollers.
