352,346. Glass manufacture. BRANCART, Y., Fauquez-lez-Virginal, Belgium. Oct. 16, 1930, No. 31038. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1929. [Class 56.] Rolling.-Relates to the method of making plate glass in which a mass of molten glass is cast on a table and spread to the required thickness by means of a roller. According to the invention, the roller a<1> has a larger diameter at its middle than at its sides so that the glass plate b<1>, when first formed, is thicker at the edges than at the middle. The glass at the edges, however, continues to spread after having passed under the roller and the plate finally obtained is of more uniform thickness than usual.
