Abstract
393,722. Converting. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 147, Queen Victoria Street, London. - (Assignees of Stansbury, C.; N. 12th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.) March 21, 1932, No. 8337. Convention date, March 20, 1931. [Class 38 (ii).] A tube having a cathode 2, an anode 3, a control grid 4 and an auxiliary anode 5 has a control source 11 of alternating potential impressed across the cathode and auxiliary anode so that current flows in one direction only between them and a condenser 7 thereby impresses a unidirectional control voltage on the grid 4. The transformer 11 is arranged so that in the half-cycle when the cathode is positive the secondary terminal connected to the grid 4 is negative. The condenser 7 is charged, current flowing from plate 8 to cathode 2, auxiliary anode 5 and plate 9. During the working half-cycle the negative charge on grid 4 and plate 9 leaks away through impedance 10 which is adjusted to control the time of starting of the current from cathode 2 to anode 3.
