Abstract
392,768. Safety razors. WHEELER, H. F. DE C., Coston House, Oldfield Lane, Greenford, Middlesex. July 4, 1932, No. 18865. [Class 30.] In a safety razor having a square blade 30 with four cutting-edges, two only of which are exposed for use, the other two being shielded by the ends of the transversely curved oblong toothed guard and clamping-plates 36, 33, the blade has a large square or approximately square central opening 31 leaving a surround narrower than the width of the opening to improve its bending qualities. The blade may be located by two or four pins 35 on the clamping-plate engaging recesses 32 breaking into the central aperture either at its corners, Fig. 1, or at its edges, Fig. 11, or the central opening may be plain square to be engaged by a square projection on the guard engaging a recess in the clamping-plate. The cut-away blade-corners may engage shielding-projections on the guard.
