Abstract
356,948. Cutting-pliers. LINGWOOD, F. D., 70, The Lawn, Shepherd's Bush, London. Sept. 16, 1930, No. 27652. Addition to 336,464, [Class 61 (ii), Hand tools]. [Class 61 (ii).] The cutting pliers of the parent Specification have the neck of the cutter B<1> rounded at B<2> and of reduced cross section so that after a slot has been cut, the cutter can be turned and the next cut made in another direction. For cutting a curved slot, Fig. 4, the cutter jaw B4 and anvil aperture A3 are rounded, and in a further modification, Fig. 5, a stop A6 is provided to limit depth of cut. The anvil member may be provided with a fixed or movable side frame for use in cutting spaced notches along the edge of a sheet. Fig. 6 shows a construction of pliers with cutter jaws E formed at El, E2 and anvil jaw D formed at D<1> for cutting rounded tongues along the edge of a strip, Fig. 7, provided also with pivoted side fences G, one of which may be turned into operative position with the part G<2> in contact with the edge of a tongue already cut, as shown in Fig. 7, for proper spacing of the next tongue.
