Abstract

392,074. Covers for resisting fluid pressure. PAGANO, A. R., 4, Via Clavarezza, Genoa, Italy. Oct. 25, 1932, No. 29873. [Class 123 (i).] The lid 10 of a pressure-resisting pot 1 is pressed down by a yoke 6 one end of which pivots under a stud 4 on a bracket 2 attached to the pot while the other end is forced down by a cam lever 13 pivoting in bearings in a bracket 3 also fixed to the pot, the pivots 14 of the cam lever being cut partially along a plane parallel to their axis so that they can only be inserted through the slots 15 when the lever is in the opening position and they can only be withdrawn when no upward pressure is exerted through the yoke on the cam lever. The yoke may act on the lid through levers 8 provided with hooks 11 at their ends engaging under a rim on the pot 1. These hooks may be dispensed with the ends of the levers 8 being held under ridges on brackets 2, 3. In small pots the levers may be dispensed with the yoke then bearing on the lid itself.
