Abstract
391,804. Knitting-machines. BRITISH CELANESE, Ltd., 22, Hanover Square, London, KINSELLA, E., PRATT, J. G.,. and KELSALL, B., c/o British Celanese, Ltd., Spondon, near Derby. Nov. 3, 1931, No. 30501. [Class 74 (ii).] The thread-feeding mechanism of a warp machine withdraws the threads simultaneously from the supply at a period in the knitting cycle out of phase with the thread-drawing operation of the knitting needles. The threads 4, 5 are drawn from beams 6, 7 by bars 13, 14 and actuated by cams 21 rotated by chain gearing from the main cam shaft 26. The bars 13, 14 are preferably so arranged that the weight of the bars 13, 14 and connecting levers 17 maintains the cam followers 20 in contact with the cams 21.
