Abstract
391,561. Ampoules. FJORD, O., 18, Xantenerstrasse, Berlin. Jan. 30, 1932, No. 2885. [Class 81 (i).] Ampoules formed with a breaking point such as a neck with a scratch thereon are provided with a covering or sleeve e.g. 3, Fig. 1, which surrounds the part to be broken and has a recess 4 oi point of least resistance at the place adjacent to the breaking point of the ampoule. The covering, which is of stiff material, may extend to the further end of the ampoule to form a cap 7, and a flint 12 of ferrocerium may be attached if the ampoule is intended to contain petrol for use in lighters. The sleeve may form part of a supporting card or packing 10, as shown in Fig. 6, tongues 11 being stamped in the card to retain the ampoule in position thereon. The sleeve may be formed by layers of lacquer applied in sections with a point of weakness between them.
