Abstract

390,730. Cartridge magazines. STEINGRœBNER, A., 110, Collenbachstrasse, SANDNER, H., 15, Spichernstrasse, and RHEINISCHE METALLWAREN UND MASCHINENFABRIK, 195, Ulmenstrasse, Derendorf, all in D³sseldorf, Germany. Sept. 21, 1932, No. 26263. [Class 92 (ii).] A gun having an automatic feed of cartridges from more than one magazine B<1>, B<2> has the magazines arranged on the weapon A so that the resultant centre of gravity of the magazines, including the cartridge guides x, is located in the trunnion axis a-a. The magazines may be either of drum or box type and may be arranged inside or outside the trunnion supports, Figs. 1 and 2, or above and below the trunnion axis, Fig. 4. In order to preserve the balance during the feed of the cartridges, a stop-and-feed device c<1>, c<2>, Fig. 9, ensures that the cartridges are removed from the cartridge guides alternately. When the cartridge b<1> is fed into the gun, the next cartridge b<2> moves the arm c<2> to reverse the stop c<1> and allow the passage of the cartridge b<3> into loading position as soon as cartridge b<2> is fed. Fig. 11 shows guides arranged for alternate feed without the aid of stop-and-feed mechanism.
