Abstract
390,425. Preventing gun flash. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP NEDERLANDSCHE SPRINGSTOFFENFABRIEKEN, 204, Heerengracht, Amsterdam, and BRUIN, G. DE, Ouderkerk-on- Amstel, both in Holland. Sept. 27, 1932, No. 26857. Convention date, Oct. 13, 1931. [Class 92 (ii).] A firearm is provided with a spraying device adapted to form one or more diverging screening layers of liquid S in front of the muzzle just before a shot is fired, in such a manner that these layers temporarily separate the outflowing gunpowder gases from the surrounding air, thereby preventing their ignition, which is the cause of muzzle flash. As shown, liquid is sprayed through a slit 2 from a ring 1. supplied with liquid by branches from a pipe 3 bent to the form of a ring adjacent the ring 1. A valve in the pipe line is opened just before the gun is fired.
