Abstract
390,233. Cases for cigarettes &c. TAUNTON, J. B., 28, Craven Street, Strand, London. Oct. 16, 1931, No. 28826. [Class 18.] A case to hold cigarettes, cigars, toilet articles, &c. comprises two parts A moulded from thermoplastic material, e.g. synthetic resin, so as to be identical in form, and each part is provided along one edge with upstanding hinge lugs which mate in the corresponding recesses between the lugs on the other part. The case is held closed by projections I which take into recesses J, and the projections and the recesses may be undercut. A recess may also adjoin a projection, as in Fig. 7. Thumb grips Q for opening the case are provided offset from the centre. The ends of the usual elastic retaining bands L are held in tapered recesses by wedges, pins, or short pieces of wire, and these recesses may be provided adjacent the projections I so that the bands pass over the latter. A cigarette case may hold one or two rows of cigarettes. In a case for toilet articles, the parts A comprise blocks with recesses to take the contents.
