Abstract
470,958. Sliding - - clasp fasteners. HORA, J. Jan. 28, 1937, No. 2520. Convention date, Jan. 31, 1936. [Class 44] Sliding-clasp fasteners with the elements cast directly on the stringer tapes have at least one interlocking projection on both the upper and lower faces of the elements and each projection extends across half the width of the element and is flush with one side face while the upper and lower projections are staggered transversely. A recess may extend across the remaining half width on each upper and lower face, being open at the side of the element and bounded at the other end by the projection. Fig. 8 shows a fastener having elements b with a projection c and a recess c<1> in transverse line on the upper face and with a projection d and recess d<1> on the lower face, the upper projections c being at the front and the lower projections d being at the rear of the fastener. Fig. 6 shows an element having on the upper face two projections c, d which are transversely and longitudinally staggered, while the lower face has two projections e, f staggered relatively to the upper projections. Fig. 3 shows a similar arrangement of the projections c, d, e, f but with corresponding recesses c<1>. d<1>, e<1>, f<1> also provided. The elements can be cast-on by using simple two-part moulds without cores. The casting burrs are removed by brushing. With elements of non-metallic material, such as synthetic resin, a dipping in a solvent is necessary before the brushing.
