Abstract

Metal and like articles are degreased by moving them in a volatile liquid solvent of grease at atmospheric or only slightly higher temperature, and then treating them with the vapour of the same in a different solvent augmented or not by showers of solvent from suitably placed condensing coils. Suitable apparatus is that described in Specification 391,454.
