Abstract
389,673. Mounting terminals ; plug couplings. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. May 10, 1932, No. 13439. Convention date, June 8, 1931. [Class 38 (i).] A terminal is attached to a base of glass or ceramic material by providing the terminal 3 with a plate 3A of conductive and heat and moisture proof material, the plate being attached by cement to the base and a hollow insulator 6 being fixed mechanically to the terminal to surround it. As applied to a binding-post mounted on a thermionic valve, Fig. 1, the hollow insulator 6 is fixed by turning over the edge 20 of a boss 3B that carries the stem 7 of the binding-post. The nut 9 of insulating material has a gapped flange to receive and retain the lead 8. As applied to a resistance, Fig. 3, the resistance element 12 passing through a ceramic base 111 is soldered to a plate 13 that is cemented to the base 111 and carries arms 17 bent at the top to form split sockets 17A. An insulating cover 16 is secured by turning over the edge of the sockets and is located by bosses 15 on the plate 13. The pins 21 attached to leads 22, 23 have insulated caps 24.
