Abstract
389,565. Vehicle window frames ; rattling-preventing devices. PLUMMER, H. T., 10, Drakefield Road, and RICHARDS, D. B., 96, Ansell Road, both in London. Aug. 22,1932, No. 32260/31. [Class 20 (iii).] The sides of the sash frame or sash 6, Fig. 1, of a vertically-sliding vehicle window, are provided with substantially Z-s e c t i o n guide-members 7 which co-operate with the ribs 3 of fixed guide-bars 2 on the window frame 4. In the form shown, the member 7 provides two channels 8, 9, the former of which constitutes a frame for the sash 6. The channel 9 is of complementary shape to the rib 3 with which it engages, which may be rectangular, semicircular, curved, or V-shaped. The sash is locked in any desired position by plungers which engage in holes 17 in the bar 3. The lower, upper, or both lower and upper, edges of the sash are fitted with a channel-member 23, Fig. 3, which is provided at each end with a detachable channel-member 24. A spring plate 25 is riveted to each member 24 and carries a resilient pad 26 of rubber, plate-brass, or the like, which co-operates with the rib 3. The upper and lower ends of the member 7 may also carry resilient extensions which co-operate with'the rib 3. The outer flange of the member 7 may be made detachable so as to facilitate the removal of the sash.
