389,312. Mercury-vapour rectifiers. AKT.-GES., BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. May 18, 1932, No. 14121. Convention date, May 18, 1931. [Class 39 (i).] Starting of a metal-cased rectifier is facilitated by accelerating the formation of vapour by means of a heating winding which is permanently installed therein near the bottom of the casing. The heater is connected to lead-in wires which pass through the cover and are coated with heat-resisting material. It is energized automatically before starting and may be kept in circuit or disconnected subsequently.
