Abstract

372,222. Mercury-vapour rectifiers. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Oct. 6, 1931, No. 27726. Convention date, Oct. 11, 1930. [Class 39 (i).] An anode sleeve b houses a wire grid c mechanically and electrically connected to a grid d formed with vertical partitions. The grid c may consist of parallel, crossed, or woven wires and the grid d may consist of a spiral, of parallel plates, or of concentric prisms, Figs. 3, 4, and 5 (not shown). The grid may be electrically connected to or insulated from the sleeve, and its distance from the anode may be variable. Only one member of the grid may be secured to the sleeve. The vertical partitions may be formed of insulating material.
