387,622. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. EHRMANN, P., 60, Rue Madame, Paris. May 19, 1932, No. 26107. Convention date, May 19, 1931. Divided on 389,313. [Class 35.] Cooling fluid passes by longitudinal channels in the rotor spider to spaces among the rotor laminations and escapes through other channels in the spider. The spider is formed with a cylindrical surface 101 slotted as shown to allow fluid from the passages 63 to pass to spaces 60 formed by cutting away the laminations 61 or some of them and escape by passages 64. The passages 63, 64 are tapered, Fig. 3, and openings 66 are formed at the ends of the passages 63 to allow a portion of the cooling-air to pass over the end windings. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes a solid rotor with cooling channels near its surface to which fluid passes from a hollow shaft. This arrangement is shown in Fig. 1 (Cancelled). The water enters by a pipe 50 coaxial with the rotor shaft, passes by ducts 55 inclined at various angles to the axis to passages 51 near the surface of the rotor and returns by other ducts 52 to the hollow shaft 53. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
