Abstract

386,134. Combing-machines. WALKER, H., Manor House, Scholes, near Cleckheaton, Yorkshire. Jan. 30, 1932, No. 2831. [Class 120 (i).] In a Heilmann or like combing-machine the drum segment A, Fig. 1, is wholly or partly covered with card clothing B the teeth of which are formed with hardened and tempered conical needle points. The teeth may be formed with or without knee bend and are carried by a flexible foundation b which is secured to the segment A by plates bl and screws b2. One or more rows of finishing pins C, C<1> are mounted at the rear end of the segment A, the pins being fixed in plates c, c<1> and mounted so that the intermediate pins C are equally spaced between the teeth B of the card clothing and the pins C<1>. The inner plate c is secured by screws c<2> which pass through slots c<3> in the plate c, the heads being accommodated in slots c<6> in the plate c<1>. The outer plate c<1> is secured by screws c<4> passing through slots c<5>, c<3> in the outer and inner plates respectively.
