Abstract

Welded structures comprising two or more different metals, e.g nickel, iron, cobalt, copper, &c., or hard metal compositions, e.g. tungsten carbide, are made by superimposing layers of the materials in a finely divided form in a mould provided with a plunger or plungers and simultaneously pressing and sintering the powders. The apparatus employed for the process is substantially that described in Specification 385,629.
