[Class 141.] A supporting band for a garment comprises a strip 2 of elastic sheet rubber enclosed in a sheath 1 of fabric material, which is preferably stretchable, the strip and sheath being anchored at their lower edges to the upper edge 6 of the garment 5 by a row of stretchable stitches 8, so that the upper part of the strip 2 and sheath 1 may move relatively to one another.
