371,911. Waistbands of garments. STEIN, S. F., 401, High Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Jan. 1, 1931, No. 141. [Class 141.] Garments, such as trousers and knickerbockers, provided at the waist with elastic material, have the lower edge 10 of the elastic webbing or the like attached to the garment material in an unstitched state. The webbing is fash.oned, as indicated in Fig. 2, so that when the edge 10 is sewn to the edge 12 of the body of the garments the latter remains unpuckered and the waistband exerts an increasing force-resisting stretching from the bottom upwardly. The fashioning is obtained by forming the waistbands in sections 10 and doubled at 11, and after attachment the waistband is conical in form, the circumference gradually decreasing upwardly.
