Abstract

385,609. Photographs on aluminium. MOSSOP, J. E., The Priory, Laleham-on- Thames. June 19, 1931, No. 17861. [Class 98 (ii).] The aluminium surface is first lightly abraded and treated with a weak hot solution of caustic alkali. A sensitive composition is applied consisting of bichromated fish glue in which natural albumen (from white of egg) is included. The plate is printed under a screen diapositive and developed under running water, turbulence being avoided. Colouring matter or a dye (e.g. diamine black) is then applied and deposits on the exposed aluminium. The plate is then washed and the dyeing and washing may be repeated as necessary. A protecting coating of lacquer is then applied and the plate dried on a hot plate (e.g. at 104‹ F.). Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 11983/02, [Class 98, Photography], and 349,596.
