Abstract
384,661. Dispensing liquids. STANIAR, H. D., R.A.F. Station, West Drayton, Middlesex. May 8, 1931, No. 13666. [Class 102 (i).] In apparatus for dispensing petrol &c., a column 1 is surmounted by a chamber 3, containing air or other gas. The chamber is fitted with a cock 5, and may be provided with a float 29. The pipe 4 from the storage tank and the discharge pipe 7 open into the bottom of the chamber 3, the pipe 7 being carried by a bracket 12, pivoted on a pin 15. The pipe 7 is connected to the chamber 3 by a flexible pipe 11, and is supported by stays 18 from a pivot pin 20. A flexible pipe 9, at the outer end of the pipe 7, is provided with a cock 10 and can be raised and lowered by means of a cable 23 and winch 25. A flow meter is provided in the pipe 4 or in the pipe 7, and the pipes are fitted with check valves. A pressure gauge 28 is connected to the chamber 3.
