Abstract
383,065. High-tension switches. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Nov. 17, 1931, No. 31887. Convention date, Dec. 4, 1930. [Class 38 (v).] The submerged metal parts of an electrolytic liquid-break switch which may operate on the expansion principle, e.g. the switch chamber, contacts, current leads, contact springs, and connecting members, consist of, or are coated with, such metals and metal alloys as have equal electrolytic potentials, as a protection against corrosion. The common electrolytic potential may be that of copper, when brass or bronze may be used for the switch chamber, steel alloys with chrome and nickel for the springs, and aluminium alloys for the switch members. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also statements that the submerged metal parts may be coated with an insulating substance, and that an additional electrode, electro-negative to all the submerged metal parts, may be immersed in the liquid. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
