[Classes 132 (ii) and 132 (iii).] Toy apparatus, particularly for use in games is of the kind comprising two devices bearing indications such as numeral discs or numeral disc and pointer and has a friction disc gearing between the two devices. The apparatus shown in Fig. 1 comprises a handle 3 and disc 2 on a shaft 1 gearing by friction disc 4 and roller 5 with the shaft 6 of a pointer 7. A fixed index 11 is provided between the disc 2 and the pointer 7. In another form the shaft 6, Fig. 2, drives by toothed gear 9, 10 the shaft 6a of a disc 8 serving instead of the pointer. In the model aeroplane shown in Fig. 3, the propeller 7 serves as the pointer. The friction disc 4 has secured to the underside thereof a toothed ring 12 engaging with a toothed wheel 15 secured on the shaft 13 to which are fixed the wheels 14. The disc 2 is rotated by turning the handle 3, by means of a cord or by pushing the aeroplane and allowing it to run. A pair of friction discs may be substituted for the toothed gearing 9, 10 of Fig. 2. By providing at least one pair of friction discs slipping may be utilized to adjust the parts of the apparatus with respect to one another. For enabling the toy to be used in the game of " Lotto " &c. both the spinning disc 2 and also the propeller or pointer 7 or the indicator disc 8 are provided with numbered sections. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) a pair of toothed gears may be substituted for the pair of friction discs 4, 5, Figs. 1 and 2. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
