W. ; Hawthorne, New Jersey, both in U.S.A.) Jan. 15, 1932, No. 1285. Convention date, June 27, 1931. [Class 94 (i).] A protector for the ends of a core 1 of a paper roll, or other fibre tube, consists of a sheet metal stamping having a body portion 3 provided with a finger opening 4, a conical portion 6 connecting the portion 3 to a cylindrical portion 7, a flange 8 to protect the end of the core, and a number of integral tongues 9 adapted to penetrate the core slightly to prevent accidental removal. The opening 4 is provided with a beaded edge 5 to prevent injury to the operator.
